Torpey Athletic Complex

The Frank “Nap” Torpey Athletic Complex is located along the north side of the Raritan River in Bridgewater Township. One of several parks acquired through the Park/Open Space Program as part of the County’s Raritan River Greenway Initiative, this is a priority park as defined by the County’s duly adopted "Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan."
The Torpey Athletic Complex consists of lighted grass baseball and softball fields as well as a state-of-the-art, synthetic turf, multi-purpose athletic field programmed for seasonal sports. All fields are available for rental for tournaments, league play, and practice. The latest addition to the complex is a 10,000 square foot building for public and employee use, with attached bleachers adding 1,000 seats to allow spectator seating of a total of 1,500.
The addition of the concession area, bathrooms, and locker rooms brings the Torpey Complex up to world-class status. The fields are maintained to the highest standards and now the facility, which is fully utilized by schools, municipal recreation departments, and the general public, is fully prepared to accommodate spectators.

Warrenbrook Golf Course

Warrenbrook Golf Course is a heavily wooded and extremely tight, 6,372 yard, 18 hole course that is open to the public. The contours provide plenty of uphill and downhill lies, and gas cars are recommended. A golf shop and snack bar are available.

Somerset County Park Commisssion's Warrenbrook Pool is the county's only public outdoor swimming facility, and offers patrons a choice of seasonal passes or daily admissions. A variety of lessons for swimmers of all abilities including Toddlers, Beginner I, Beginner II, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, and Diving is provided by Park Commission Staff.
Washington Valley Hawk Watch Area

From August through November, the Washington Valley Park Hawk Watch Area is host to several hundred hawkwatchers from all over the northeastern United States. Armed with binoculars, spotting scopes and cameras, they come to witness the thousands of hawks, falcons, and eagles flying overhead, sometimes just over the treetops. The hawkwatchers count and identify the onslaught of raptors making their journey to Central and South America. Endangered and threatened birds such as ospreys, peregrine falcons, and bald eagles are just some of the noteworthy birds soaring above the area, especially when weather conditions are just right.
Washington Valley Park
Washington Valley Park consists of approximately 715.5 acres that lie along the First Watchung Ridge in Bridgewater Township. The park contains the former Bound Brook Elizabethtown Reservoir that will become the focal point of the park along a network of trails. The park is located between the first and second Watchung Mountains at the geographic center of Somerset County. It consists of pine and hemlock forests, open freshwater wetland marches, impressive rock outcroppings, numerous historic features and a 21-acre reservoir.
Activities include hiking, biking, bird watching, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
