Blues and Wine
Get a taste of the entire state of New Jersey right in Somerset County! The Blues and Wine Festival, hosted each year by the Garden State Wine Growers Association at the Somerset County Park Commission's beautiful Natirar Park, takes place the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. Come to this gorgeous ninety-acre estate for the wine, stay for the music and enjoy a relaxing day sipping away.
A tasting glass comes with every entry, or if you're a pro, bring your own on a lanyard! New Jersey wines come from the fruitful bounty of our gardens (it's called the Garden State for a reason!), and pair nicely with bites of chocolate, crackers or cheeses, all of which are available at winery tents. If you're ready for a short break from the vino, head to one of the vendors for beautiful cheese boards, handmade crafts or a delicious bite of something savory. Those who have gone before know to bring a couple of lawn chairs, a picnic and a hat or sunscreen to make the festival a picture perfect day.
New Jersey is a proud grower of prize-winning wines and is gainging more accodales with each passing day. The New Jersey wine-growing industry has taken off in the last few years, and is now the fifth-largest wine producing state in the U.S. New Jersey is home to dozens of varieties of grapes, cranberries, blueberries and other fruits that make delicious wine. Come see what all the fuss is about this Memorial Day!
