Young at Art
Celebrate our young artists!
March is youth art month at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, where in partnership with Art Educators of New Jersey, visitors can see exhibits and events focused on young artists the entire month.
The month will kick off with a “Battle of the Bands” on Saturday, March 2nd from 7-10:30 p.m. The event features groups from three area high school groups: “Into the Trees” from Bernards High, “Panic Switch” from Newark Academy, and “Impulse” from Bridgewater Raritan High School. The public is invited to show their support for talented local musicians! The winning group receives a $100 gift certificate to the Guitar Center. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is $5 at the door.
Exhibits: The first exhibit will display art work by students in grades 6 through 12, from March 1-10. On Sunday March 10 an awards presentation and artist demonstration by Dan Fenelon will take place at 2pm. Children will be able to watch the artist at work and participate in a group project. The second exhibit will display work from students in grades K through 5 from March 15-25. Sunday March 24 at 2pm there will be an awards presentation and family open house, where children can create a variety of art projects under the guidance of the CCA faculty.
