The Great Warm Indoors

Don't get along with the cold? Don't worry, there are plenty of indoor activities to keep you and your family active in the New Year.

Branchburg Sports Complex (BSC) offers kids of all ages something fun this winter. Younger children (3-12 years old) can enjoy the PlayMaze, which was custom designed for the complex. The multi-level play maze has slides, tunnels and bridges, and offers a parent viewing section. Non-members pay just $12 for unlimited all-day play.

The complex also has one of the state's most impressive and visually stunning four-level laser tag arenas. BSC hosts recreational sports for children and adults year-round, including basketball, indoor soccer, tennis, lacrosse, flag football, baseball and softball, as well as indoor batting cages.

Ready to go retro? Bring the family to AMF Strike N Spare Lanes in Green Brook. The newly renovated alley offers specials every day which include shoes, drinks and food. AMF is open early and closes late, so a trip down to the alley can fit into even the busiest of schedules. For lane availability and reservations, please call 732-356-0011.

If you're looking to experience winter from the inside out, head on over to Protec Hockey Ponds Ice Center in Somerset. Enjoy ice skating with the whole family on Friday nights, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons for just $7/adults, and $6/children and seniors. Skate rentals are available for $4. For details, please click here.

The center also offers weekly youth hockey clinics on Fridays (details here) and is the home of the Rutgers D-1 hockey program! In January. Protec Hockey will host two Rutgers home games (1/19 at 3:20pm vs. University of Delaware and 1/26 at 2:35pm vs. Westchester University), so grab a friend and cheer on Jersey's #1 school!
